Description
HDPE EX5 (HM9450F) is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin developed through suspension polymerization of ethylene monomer, incorporating 1-butene as a comonomer. It is a bi-modal HDPE, which means it combines two molecular weight distributions to offer a balance of mechanical strength and processability.
This material is characterized by:
- High molar mass – contributing to superior mechanical strength and durability.
- Good stiffness and tenacity – ensuring structural integrity in finished products.
- Excellent toughness and tear strength – suitable for demanding applications.
- Low gel content – enhancing film clarity and strength consistency.
EX5 (HM9450F) is primarily designed as a blown film grade, making it well-suited for the production of strong, durable plastic films.
Applications
- Packaging Industry:
- Counter and carrier bags
- Wrapping sheets and stretch film
- Heavy-duty industrial liners
- Containers and bottle caps – due to its excellent barrier properties and chemical resistance.
- Construction Industry:
- Pipes and fittings – benefiting from high tensile strength and corrosion resistance.
- Geomembranes and liners – where durability and chemical resistance are crucial.
- Automotive Industry:
- Lightweight components – offering flexibility and strength while reducing vehicle weight.
- Protective housings and reservoirs
- Agricultural Sector:
- Mulch films and greenhouse films – thanks to UV stability and mechanical toughness.
